Laughter defeats anger

Ken

We have forgotten to laugh! We have forgotten to be at peace, to be happy, and to be free. Nowadays, our days are filled with plans about our careers, goals, achievements, and even how to pay the debts that we got our self into. And while all of these are very important we cannot allow them consume us. It is essential to stop and breath, to pause and meditate, to press on the breaks and laugh! On our journey to reach these goals we run into all sort of moments: happy, sad, accomplishments, disappointing, and even angry moments. I have a secret tool to overcome these moments.  When this occurs let’s release the secret weapon, “Laughter.” According to Health Guide laughter is “the best medicine” that we can have to be able to face day to day challenges. It helps with stressed moments.

Kenny & Sophia 2I have noticed throughout the past four years, while working in Property Management,s that we can easily fall into “Auto Pilot” or “Tunnel Vision.” We get so caught up with what the world wants from us and the things we need to do that we forget what’s most important – to laugh! So let us heal, let us be at peace, let us be happy, let us laugh!

My family is my success, my foundation, my treasure, my very own bundle of joy. Without them in my life, their would be less laughter.  – Jeancarlo Gomez

-Below are my 5 reasons why laughing is important

  1. Laughing changes the atmosphere in a hostile environment
  2. Laughter helps reduce stress
  3. Laughter helps you forget about your problems
  4. Laughing is good for the heart
  5. Laughing creates memorable friendship

Chronicles of a Photographer: Words from an Expert

Kenneth

Well, I believe that as you continue to grow and sharpen your skills in photography, you may dislike some of your photos and may even tell yourself that you could have done a better job. But, don’t let yourself discourage you! This is what I like to call your biggest competitor – yourself. The truth is that blasting your previous work and/or comparing your work, that is already magnificent, with other professionals or amateur artists could be quite saddening and heartbreaking. So, learn to recognize the work of others and possibly be inspired by it, and use it in a healthy manner, try not to compare your work to others in a way that diminishes what you do. It is always great practice to be open to learn from others while understanding that you are not the other person and our personalities, though processes, and ways of shooting are different. You were given a gift, a gift to enjoy, to capture art, people, music, action, nature, and anything that crosses your path.  Don’t fall into drowning yourself with discouragement and some type of jealousy towards others and their work, instead take time to recognize your work as unique, special, and different. Photography has no right or wrong if it’s done purposely, so enjoy what you do and be happy with your work and remember that if you want to grow in this trade, you do it for yourself and to enjoy it, do it purposely and passionately, do it for love and not for money!

Chronicles of a Photographer: Amateur vs. Expert

DSC_3877 Personally, I find it quite thrilling to be able to capture a spectacular shot when there are challenges around. We all know that taking pictures could be done by simply anyone. Our thought about this is usually: just pick up a camera, aim it at something, and click the ‘capture’ button , right? While this is in part true, there is a lot of practice and learning in film and photography that one must dedicate time to in order to obtain high quality results. You’d need to learn when to shoot, how to shoot, and why you are shooting to add meaning to the photo. Experts could spend a lot of their time waiting for the right moment to snap a picture, but just like new beginners, amateur artists tend to wait less and shoot more.  Usually, as an amateur I would snap tenths of pictures hoping one would come out perfect, but now, I have learned my lesson. I am an expert that understands that waiting for the right moment results in a higher quality and more significant photo than just shooting uncontrollably in hope of a great shot. An amateur photographer could feel like every shot taken is a perfect shot and may not want to delete it, but as time goes by and you gain experience, your skills enhance and your knowledge enriches, and you learn that expertise can only be achieved through practice and that every expert was once an amateur.
